The Raypirri Rom Program is seeking a Raypirri Rom Administration Officer to provide vital administrative support to the team. This role ensures that mainstream administrative processes and systems are carried out in a culturally appropriate manner. Key responsibilities include managing bookings, travel arrangements, minute-taking, and purchasing; assisting with HR documentation, document control, and data reporting; receiving visitors, handling phone inquiries, and supporting resource creation in English and Yolŋu Matha. The role also promotes compliance with Miwatj policies and work health and safety standards, contributing to a dynamic, collaborative team environment.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, an understanding of issues faced by Yolngu people in remote communities, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications, and the ability to work independently and within a team. Candidates must hold a current NT Driver’s License and Ochre Card and be willing to participate in relevant training. Personal qualities such as reliability, motivation, and commitment are highly valued.
